Ontario requires 9,000 hours of on-the-job training plus 3 levels of in-school training through the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development.
You may challenge the Certificate of Qualification exam after completing your apprenticeship or through the Trade Equivalency Assessment if you have significant experience.
Ontario adopts the CEC with Ontario-specific amendments (OESC). The Red Seal exam uses the national standard.
